Some investors are salivating at the prospect of a big special dividend to come from National Grid (LSE: NG) when it disposes of its gas distribution arm. They’d do better to consider long-term dividend growth and sustainability, and so perhaps to consider rival utility SSE (LSE: SSE) instead.
