Vodafone (LSE: VOD) (NASDAQ: VOD.US) and Transport For London are in talks to find a way for commuters to use ‘near-field communication’ on their mobile phones to pay for their journeys, perhaps in place of the Oyster card which requires a big team to manage efficiently. Are we headed towards a future where, instead of the ‘three pocket pat’ (phone, wallet, keys), we’ll just need to carry our phones around with us? Owain Bennallack airs his views in this video…
